VP of Credit and Syndications

THE ROLE

Major Goals of Role:

  • Input standard smaller transactions into various funder portals;
  • Develop systems where a declined credit is worked such that it can be approved and funded;
  • Recognize accounts that can generate more volume by looking beyond individual transactions envisioning future potential;
  • Creative ways to approve transactions beyond what the client is asking for;
  • Conduct risk analysis and writeup complex credits making them desirable to funding partners;
  • Be innovative in underwriting and selling transactions to funding partners;
  • Educate BSC sales team guiding / leading client negotiations on larger transactions;
  • Look for ways to build programs or products that will allow sales to sell more;
  • Develop trusting relationships with financial partners and their executives;
  • Grow existing funding relationships with an eye to constantly reduce our COF.
  • Proactively work with Account Executives and Sales Directors to find innovative solutions on new assets and leases > $500K.
  • Establish and maintain protocol to be certain we adhere to all Representations and Warranties with each of our lenders.

Job Functions:

  • Establish, build and maintain strong working relationships with lending sources (i.e.: banks);
  • Coordinate quarterly reviews with lending sources to ensure continued services;
  • Clearly articulate the value and opportunity of individual lease opportunities (deals) coupled with accurate credit write up to present to lending sources for sale;
  • Effectively manage transaction flow in a timely manner to assist the sales team in securing the deal and meeting cash flow requirements;
  • Proactively predict and project deal funding dates building an accurate forecast;
  • Easily move between individual deals and department responsibilities to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Maintain updated transaction documents in Salesforce to best utilize the system to auto-populate documents saving time in closing the sale and accuracy in documenting the transaction;
  • Proactively look for ways to improve Salesforce and documentation automation process to streamline operations and ensure accuracy of data;
  • Monitor credit and KPI’s to ensure service level timelines are met;
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sales team, customers and vendors;
  • Analyze financial statements, prepare credit write ups and make recommendations with attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy;
  • Make credit decisions within established guidelines and authority;
  • Assess portfolio performance and verticals to ensure acceptable delinquency and loss parameters through prudent credit decision making;
  • Approve new vendor partners and programs based on established parameters, monitor ongoing performance utilizing operational statistics;
  • Perform due diligence to protect both Blue Street Capital and our lenders from fraudulent transactions;
  • Maniacal attention to detail in Salesforce;
  • Proactively look for ways to improve credit process and procedures to streamline operations, ensure faster response times, more accurate credit decisions and positive customer experiences;
  • Prepare reports as identified by leadership;
  • Provide functional leadership to assist the sales team;
  • Assist in onboarding and mentoring new hires in credit function;
  • Provide cross training opportunities when onboarding new team members;
  • Assist in training of various team members in all functions on credit and how it interacts and supports sales.

COMPENSATION

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Our Ideal Candidate is:

  • Excellent reporting and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required;
  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to gather, organize and evaluate financial documents;
  • Understanding of lease documentation;
  • Certified Lease and Finance Professional (CLFP) designation a plus;
  • Clear understanding of financial statements and documents;
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands when needed;
  • Ability to interface with lending sources, vendors, customers and co-workers on a professional and personal level;*
